Thank you so much for these improved browsers!

I have a question regarding the memory management: I work with a lot (!) of tabs and windows open, and the browser regularly needs ~3-5GB RAM (which is fine).

With version 35.0 all was pretty well.

Since upgrading to 39.0, I think it tries to trim down memory use to aggressively, leading to lots of swapping and hangs.

What can I do to get “35.0-style” memory handling back also in the latest 39.0 version?

    Many thanks!

You can try to set pcxfirefox.memory.firefox.smart to false

        Thank you for your suggestion!

I tried this for both v39 and v40, but after a while they still become unresponsive and hang, while v35 still works for me.

Anything else you think I could try?

        Many thanks!

So it’s not related with pcxFirefox SmartRAM feature, maybe it’s caused by your some extensions, which may have some problem after 36.0.

And after setting pcxfirefox.memory.firefox.smart to false, you should reboot the browser.
